System Tools to Maintain your PC

We often install third party software to clean our system. This post will help you to do those things with the inbuilt System tools provided by Windows 7. By regularly using system tools, we can maintain the system performance. Installing third party software will consume space in the hard disk and slow down your system. Go to Start>>All Programs>>Accessories>>System Tools and find the following tools, Disk Cleanup, Disk defragmenter, Resource Monitor.

 

Disk Cleanup:

Disk Cleanup tool helps you free up space on your hard disk. It helps us to clear unwanted old files such as Compression of old files, Temporary Internet files, Temporary Windows file, Downloaded Program files, Recycle Bin, Removal of unused applications or optional Windows components, Setup Log files, Offline files.

Step 1

Go to Start>>All Programs>>Accessories>>System Tools>>Disk Cleanup

Step 2

Select the drive in which you want to perform Disk Cleanup and click OK.

Step 3

Disk Cleanup will scan and calculate the mount of files that can be cleared.

Step 4

You can select the files and folder that you want delete and click OK.

Step 5

You are Done, now you have successfully performed a Disk cleanup.

 

Disk defragmenter:

Defragmentation is the process consolidating fragmented files on your hard disk. By defragmenting your hard disk; you can boost the performance of your computer. We use to delete and copy files in hard disk as our need, by doing so fragments of files occurs. To correct these fragments, we have to defragment our hard disk.

 

Step 1

Go to Start>>All Programs>>Accessories>>System Tools>>Disk defragmenter

Step 2

Click Analyze disk to check the rate of fragmented files.

Step 3

Now Click Defragment disk to start the process.

 

Step 4

Final result will be displayed after the completion of disk defragment.

 

Resource Monitor:

Resource Monitor is one of the best tools to monitor Application and system process. We can see which service using how much resource by categories, example- Amount of cpu usage, Memory, Network and Disk.

By analyzing the resource usage we can improve our system performance and maintain it effectively .

Fix Blue Screen Error in Windows XP & Windows 7

Blue Screen problem is a big headache for user who use windows os. Some time it lead us to lose data and application from our computer. Many people don’t know how to fix this problem, they waste time in formatting the system and application installation. There is a simple way to fix this problem and also save your time . In this post i am going to explain you, how to fix blue screen problem using Recovery console.

Step 1         

Make CD Drive as first boot-able device using BIOS settings to start the process.

 

Step 2

Press any key to boot from CD or DVD (XP or Windows7)

 

Step 3

Now system will load files and finally ask for “Press R to Repair using Recovery console” in XP and “Repair computer” in windows 7

 

Step 4

Now type the command given below and hit enter to start the recovering process.

 

 chkdsk c: /r

Step5

After the file check is over, type exit and restart the system and remove the CD or DVD.

 

Step 6

Check if the system is booting correctly, it should boot correctly now.

That’s all you have successfully solved Blue screen problem.

How To Install Windows 7

Step 1

Power on the PC press F2 or Del key to enter into BIOS setting, change the first boot device to CD_ROM and press F10 to save settings.

Step 2

Now restart your system and insert the windows 7 DVD, it will ask to Press any key to boot from cd or dvd.

Step 3

Just press any key so the the installation process starts.

Step 4

Setup will load windows files and Install Now screen appears, click Install Now to continue.

Step 5

Accept the License agreement by clicking the check box and click next.

Step 6

Click Custom to customize the partition, click advance option to edit the partition table to your requirement.

Step 7

To create a partition, select the unallocated space and enter the partition size(in MB) and click apply to create partition. You can create any number of partition for your use.

Step 8

Now select the partition in which you want to install and press next to continue installation.

Step 9

Windows will run the setup file and restart several times during installation, once the installation is finished it will ask for User name, key and new password to finish the installation process.

Step 10

Now It is done and you have successfully installed windows 7 on your PC.
